Maximizing marriage allowance
A self-assessment tax return was sent to Shan by a taxpayer, whereby a married couple had never claimed marriage allowance! Are you eligible for it? It is worth a check.

I receive overseas income, am I liable for UK tax?
Our team advised a UK tax resident, a non-UK domiciled client of her overdue tax liability. A financial modeling spreadsheet was provided to help our client understand her position.

Can I turn my hobby into a business?
Early in 2023, our team was approached for advice in setting up a floristry business. This assignment went beyond the usual tax and accounting elements and included advice on pricing and marketing. We also effected an introduction to a small retailer who was willing to showcase the floral arrangements in the week leading up to St Valentine’s Day. Nearly all of the bouquets were sold although it is unclear at this stage whether the business is sustainable. The clinic will now be helping to make the necessary registration with HMRC and prepare accounts for the first period of trading up to 31 March 2023."
